EVENT POSTPONED: Hofstra Law School to Recognize Liz Vaz With Their 2020 Outstanding Women in Law Award

Due to the serious concerns surrounding COVID-19, Hofstra Law School has decided to postpone the 2020 Outstanding Women in Law Gala scheduled for April 22 until the fall of 2020.

While a new date has not yet been selected, Hofstra Law School is definitely moving forward with this fabulous event, and I will of course keep everyone posted as to all of the upcoming details.

Thank you!

About Liz

After witnessing my parents’ traumatic divorce, I turned that experience into my life's mission; to prevent this unnecessary pain from happening to other families.

As an attorney, I embrace mediation and the collaborative divorce model. I dedicate my services to assisting individuals who are going through family issues or divorce, to do so in a respectful way. For over 20 years I have worked with women with developmental disabilities, supporting them on their path toward independence while teaching coping techniques for resolving disputes. Working as a legal educator with the non-profit, Family Kind, I have been instrumental in enlightening parents about effective co-parenting techniques, even after the dissolution of the marriage.

I am the proud founder and President of the Long Island Collaborative Divorce Professionals group, a coalition of interdisciplinary experts who are all dedicated to serving Long Island families in supportive, dignified and confidential ways during times of family crisis.

I am committed to my mission of empowering families who are in conflict, to find a better path forward.
