In-Person Consultation

2. Flat-Fee Mediation
Flat-fee divorce mediation options structured to fit your level of agreement and complexity.
Flat-Fee Mediation, Level 1
The simplest, most affordable way to finalize your divorce.
For couples who already agree on all terms. We confirm details in a short meeting, then draft and e-file your documents.
Flat-Fee Mediation, Level 2
Guided sessions to resolve remaining issues with clarity and support.
For couples who need help finalizing agreements. Includes 3 one-hour sessions, MOU after each, and full drafting & filing.
Flat-Fee Mediation, Level 3
Comprehensive support with trusted professionals for complex needs.
For couples who want added help. Includes 3 sessions, up to 4 hours with a CDFA/parenting coordinator, attorney review, and full drafting & filing.
3. Hourly Mediation
Flexible hourly mediation for couples with complex or open-ended issues.
$5,000 initial retainer
Our hourly mediation rate is $550 per hour and requires an initial $5,000 retainer. As work is completed on your matter, fees are billed in one-tenth-of-an-hour (six-minute) increments and deducted from your retainer. If the retainer is depleted before your mediation is complete, you will be asked to replenish it so work can continue. Because every mediation is different, we cannot predict or guarantee the total cost or how many, if any, retainer replenishments may be required. Once our work is complete, any unused portion of your retainer will be refunded to you.
4. Additional Services & Fees
Transparent pricing for Collaborative Divorce, agreement drafting, legal review, and QDRO preparation.
Collaborative Divorce
Retainer is replenished as needed. Any unused balance is refunded when our work is complete. These are Vaz Law fees only, other professionals involved in the Collaborative process may have separate retainers and fees that we cannot quote or guarantee.
Prenuptial & Postnuptial Agreement Drafting
Includes drafting plus one hour of review and edits when terms are already agreed upon and no mediation is needed. If mediation is needed to reach agreement on the terms first, the applicable hourly mediation pricing above applies before the $3,500 drafting fee.
Legal Review Services
This is a four-hour retainer. It is replenished if additional work is needed, and any unused balance is refunded when work is complete. This retainer is intentionally smaller than the Collaborative Divorce retainer, since a larger retainer typically isn't needed at this stage of the process.
QDRO Preparation
Preparation of a Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) for the division of retirement assets. Flat fee per QDRO filing.
